Wellington, Florida is home to one of the world’s most competitive sport-horse communities, attracting top riders,trainers , owners, and horses from around the globe. From the show-jumping arenas of the Winter Equestrian Festival to the international dressage circuit, these horses perform at an exceptional level where soundness, balance, strength, and longevity are essential.

High-Performance Jumpers

Wellington’s jumper circuit features horses competing from developing national levels all the way to the international FEI ranks. At the highest levels, horses regularly jump courses at 1.40m, 1.45m, 1.50m, 1.55m and even 1.60m (approximately 5’3”). Wellington’s 2026 FEI competitions have included CSI5* Grand Prix classes with obstacles reaching 1.60m, along with 1.50m–1.55m classes. 

These horses require extraordinary athleticism and precision. Every landing places significant forces through the horse’s limbs and feet. Proper hoof balance and appropriate shoeing are therefore an important part of maintaining the horse’s comfort, performance, and long-term soundness.

International Dressage Horses

Wellington is also one of North America’s premier centers for high-level dressage. The area attracts horses and riders competing through the FEI levels, including Grand Prix competition.

Unlike a jumper, a Grand Prix dressage horse isn’t asked to clear enormous obstacles. Instead, the horse must demonstrate exceptional balance, collection, strength, suppleness, coordination, and precision while performing highly demanding movements.

That places tremendous importance on the horse’s foundation. A balanced hoof supports a balanced horse.
